April 22nd is Earth Day! While we are home right now, it's the perfect time to tend to the Earth and be more mindful of our waste and how we can be better care takers of our planet!
Here are some fun things to do as a family to celebrate Earth Day:
1) Plant a tree or seeds!
We think this one is pretty traditional on Earth day, making sure to plant something! Whether you're getting starter seeds in a pot or planting an orange tree in your backyard, go for it!
2)Cook a meal with sustainable seafood!
Making sure that your seafood is always sustainably sourced is so important to the preservation of our eco systems!

3)Switch to stainless steel straws from here on out!
A nifty way to sip on your drink, and be environmentally friendly! Here are some straws we thought were super cute!

4)Go on a Nature Hike!
Take the family on a nature hike to see all of the great sights! Get a bird watchers book to look for birds that are native to your area. See who can spot the most on your hike!
5)Make Non Toxic Water Color Painted Pictures!
Tools needed for this project
light corn syrup (or simply boil one cup sugar and 1/2 cup water until clear)
assorted food coloring
MIX: Combine 3 tablespoons each of the baking soda, cornstarch and vinegar and add 1 1/2 teaspoons of the corn syrup/sugar substitute.
Allow the fizzing to subside and mix completely
Pour the mixture into container(s) - see options below
Add the food coloring to create colors
Leave out to harden for three hours.
Make sure you add the food coloring right away, as the paint starts to solidify almost immediately
Paint assorted pictures of the earth, leaves, flowers, and animals!
6)Have Earth Day themed foods!
Enjoy fun foods like blueberries and kiwis that are both round and green and blue like the earth!
Arrange them on your plate like continents surrounded by water and then eat your sweet treats!
